These are practice drawings of an Eye and a mouth. a drawing of my eye and a drawing of a random mouth and mine.
Critique 1. Describe the craftsmanship of your drawing. (Is it neat and well executed?)Personally I feel like there isn't much craftsman ship other than the attempt of drawing by solely trusting myself to highlight from the reference. the background is messy but the drawing it self i believe is clean(neat). 2. Describe how your background choices help unify the three artworks and tie them together as one piece of art. I used a regular yellow background, because for the background it was a yellowish wooded table for the background. 3. Describe your choice of colors/color harmonies and how you used them throughout the artwork. I decided to use bright colors (the fruit loops and jar of jelly) and the cookies (browns) it turned out to be very colorful with the fruit loops making it appealing to the eye. 4.How did you create contrast in your drawing? I used the two bags of food and the jar to separate the different transparencies. The jar has a different transparency than the jar. How did you use textures, highlights and shadows to enhance your artwork? the cookies have a semi rough texture that I tried to replicate, and the bag has the jagged but smooth texture because of the highlights it helps you know that it is smooth. Why did you choose a particular background color to mount your artwork? the reason why I made the background yellow is because of the wooded background in the reference photos. Discuss the importance of understanding the media (prisma or pastels) and acquiring the skills necessary to create a successful project. I used pencils, and prisma. Prisma has a softer led when drawing with allowing the artist to layer because of this softness. Layering and shading gives the illusion of depth. Describe any difficulties you had creating your drawing and what you could do to improve your drawing? I had difficulties showing the inside of the jelly jar because of the texture of the jelly, how I could practice for this is drawing jelly it's self because jelly is partially translucent.
